To promote solar energy, ANANDANA, in partnership with Mahila SEWA Trust (MST) of Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA) has implemented two projects to empower women through solar lanterns.

• Identified two trained women to train 10 women in the fabrication of lanterns who in turn passed on their skills to 200 women
• Over 15000 lanterns were produced by these women
• Additionally, 10 women were imparted training on hand pump installation, repair and maintenance

• Lanterns have been distributed to 15000 households (approx.)
• Around 57000 villagers benefitted with the provision of solar lantern and installation of hand pumps
