A Water replenishment project in Rajasthan

The topography and landscape were very congenial to implement a huge water replenishment project in Village Tontari of Dholpur District, Rajasthan. The Lupin Human Welfare Foundation worked with Anandana with a view to construct a huge check dam in the form of a reservoir so as to replenish ground water.

Initiative:
  • Construction of masonry check dam on river Bamani
Impact:
  • The check dam measuring 6.5 km in length could store 1.7 billion liters of water (approx.)
  • Revitalized most of the open dug wells and borewells
  • Increase in the ground water level by 8-10 feet
  • Over 11,000 people across 5 villages have been benefitted
